3 Brothers Pizza Cafe – Long Island, NY –> OMG, Vegan Mozzarella Sticks!

3 Brothers Pizza Cafe – Long Island, NY –> OMG, Vegan Mozzarella Sticks!
Kristin

I totally broke my own rule this time! I’ve been pining over 3 Brothers Pizza Cafe for nearly a year, after first hearing about them, and I just had to stop in. The broken rule? Visiting a restaurant that serves meat! I know, I know. I’m sorry! However, 3 Brothers has a FULL vegan menu. We’re talkin’ a Sunday brunch menu featuring scrambles, pancakes, french toast, crepes, omlets, and more. As well as a cafe menu that includes mozzarella sticks (these are so good!), buffalo drumsticks, vegan calamari, more than ten different pasta dishes, calzones, heroes, burgers, and of course pizza. More than ten different pies plus custom made pies too!

They might as well just be 100% vegan, IMO. However, when 2 out of 3 brothers aren’t vegan I can see how that could be a challenge. According to their website, Jay Astafa (the vegan brother.. who is only 20 years old, or something crazy young like that) was upset that there were no vegan options on the menu. So what did he do? He created a full vegan menu, of course! And it’s a friggin’ good one at that! Way to be, Jay! Way to be.

Mozzarella Sticks!!! Wow… just remembering these makes me want to drive back up to NY. **drools** — these yummy delights are breaded daiya mozzarella served with a very tasty tomato sauce. These are hands down, the best vegan mozz sticks I’ve ever had. No question.

I just noticed that by the time I slowed down to take a second pic of these ‘sticks I had already downed half of ’em. Ha! Yes, they are that good!Vegan Mozzarella Sticks 3 Brothers Pizza CafeVegan Mozzarella Sticks 3 Brothers Pizza Cafe

Naturally I needed to try one of their pies as well. I ended up ordering The Works – seitan meatballs, seitan sausage, soy pepperoni, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, daiya mozzarella, and tomato sauce. It was great!

I truly wish I had more time in the area because I would have LOVED to try some of the classic Italian dishes that they have. Seitan Piccata! Oyster Mushrooms in Scampi Sauce! Baked Ziti! Fettuccine Alfredo! Spaghetti Bolognese! Pesto Pasta! Eggplant Rollantini! I could go on but it’s only torturous to do so. But you should totally go. If you’re even remotely close to the Long Island area definitely check out 3 Brothers Pizza Cafe!

Vegan Mozzarella sticks?! Oh man…I had the Teese ones but they were just so-so to me. But these look incredible! Wow….That is an impressive menu for a non-veg place.

  2. Rules were meant to be broken. Thanks for breaking yours! I’m always looking for places in NY my whole family can eat at…or rather I’m not just eating the rolls. The pizza looks delicious!

  3. That pizza looks fucking dope!!!

  4. I just admire what you’re doing so much!

  5. I am glad you broke your rule for this post!!! Honestly cheese sticks & a good pizza 100% vegan that are good is a rarity. I have 3 Brothers bookmarked for the next time I hit the east coast. Thank You!

  6. Those both look amazing! I need to try some good vegan cheese sticks.. luckily Whole Foods and Uncle Madio’s has me covered on great vegan pizza.

Did you check out Cafe Blossom when you were in NY?

    • Hi Andrew! I did go to Blossom but not the Cafe. They have mozz sticks and pizza?!

      • They have this wonderful combination of both! They are mushroom pizza bites, and are quite delicious. I didn’t realize until now that they had 3 locations, but I try to visit the Cafe next to the Museum of Natural History whenever I go to NYC. It was really a great place a few years ago when they made their own ginger ale… so good!! Now they use bottled stuff :-(

  7. I live on Long Island!!! ThreeBrothers is my FAVE!!!! I highly recommend!!! http://veganamericanprincess.com

  8. My life was complete when they opened their restaurant in Farmingdale, NY (Long Island)– it’s exactly 2 minutes from my house! Needless to say, every single family celebration is held there so I can finally have my (vegan) cake and eat it too! I <3 3 Brothers Pizza Café!
