VeganFest in Italy, Day 2 – Vegan Swag, WTFVF Shout Outs, The Leaning Tower of Pisa, Food & Fest Pics Out The Wazoo

Welcome to day two in Italy! Chris found some great breakfast food in the lobby of the hotel! This is our light starter as I use mornings to write about the day/night prior. Mornings = writing and snacking and the rest of the day = exploring, picture taking, sight seeing, etc. Yay! :)

Seravezza Italy

After blogging/writing was complete we headed to VeganFest for lunch. We went to the ‘food tent’ and got a couple of sandwiches and a fruit cup from Ideal Party, Vegan To Go.

I started to take note of all the cool vegan swag floating about the Fest and decided to start capturing some of it on camera. Check out these sweet shirts and other vegan accessories. And thanks to those of you who let me take your pic! :) What would you do if someone who didn’t speak your language asked if they could take a photo of you? Hehe!! I was delighted that everyone said yes! :)

At some point I thought it would be fun to hand out WTFVF bumper stickers. Got some great photos of vegan vendors with their stickers! :)

After a few hours at VeganFest we decided to take a break and drive forty-five minutes to Pisa to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Cool!

As I was getting ready to take the above pic I heard Chris say, “LOOK, look, LoOk!” … and do you know what we saw?! A BUNNY! Not just any bunny, but an Italian bunny. Teehee! :) Her name is Daisy and she was just enjoying the grass and sun with her roomies. So adorable!!

Time for a quick WTFVF pic and then on to lunch at the only vegan restaurant in Pisa!

In yesterday’s post we mentioned that the vegan food vendor, Vegan Come Koala said they had recently opened a location in Pisa. Turns out, it’s only a ten minute walk from The Leaning Tower of Pisa. Excellent! We walked over, sat for about an hour, and ate some spinach burgers, hot dogs, lemonade, and chips and had a wonderful chat with one of the three co-owners of this vegan joint. So. Cool.

Very first and currently only WTFVF decal went up at Vegan Come Koala, which makes it the only vegan restaurant in all of Europe to have it. Soooo coooool!!!!! **squeak**

It was time to leave Pisa and head back to VeganFest. Check out the view from one of the bridges crossing the Arno River. Gorgeous!

As we were headed back to VeganFest I received the following message via Facebook:

We are 2 Canadian vegans on a year trip and we are also at vegan fest! – Capri

Whaaaat?! Others at VeganFest who are not only vegan but traveling around the world and speak English?! We just had to meet up with them. We arranged to meet in front of the main entrance at VeganFest and ended up talking for quite a while with Capri and Jason, who are currently on a year-long travel adventure themselves! Capri and Jason are super kind and have a travel blog, as well as a blog featuring Myrtle, their super cool, renovated motorhome. I’m thinkin’ Gerty and Myrtle should get together. But that’s just me.

Thanks for the great conversation and new friendship, Jason and Capri! We look forward to meeting you again during future travels! :)

And that’s a wrap for day two. Phew! :)
